Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit

In Schaumburg: A Big Move with Big Potential

In Schaumburg: A Big Move with Big Potential

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." — James 1:27

Feed My Starving Children’s Schaumburg, Illinois facility is moving! Volunteers and staff have created many memories and fed millions of children in the eight years this location has been open.

We’re beyond excited for what’s in store at the new site.

The new location is an expanded site that will fit up to 60,000 more volunteers each year. That means we’ll be able to pack enough meals to feed 55,000 more children a daily meal each year.

The current Schaumburg site has meant a lot to our staff, volunteers and donors in the community, but we have simply outgrown it (as many volunteers who have tried to park there can verify!)

Schaumburg

“I am excited for the potential to feed so many additional kids, but our current four walls for me have been such a refuge for me, I am going to miss them severely,” Volunteer Program Facilitator, Alyssa, told us. “That building gave me my best friend — and my future husband. That building gave my daughter so many aunts and uncles that raise us up. I always think of Exodus when Aaron and Hur held up Moses’s arms over the Israelites. My FMSC family has held my arms up in those walls for so long.”

Staff at the site are collecting time capsule items to commemorate eight years of packing meals together at 1072 National Parkway before the final packing session on Feb. 23.

Packing at 740 Wiley Farm Court – just a few blocks NW of the current site – begins Feb. 25.

Our family has volunteered at the Schaumburg facility for nearly eight years, and it is due to your generosity and those like you that the Schaumburg facility exists.

This expansion was made possible by a generous donor family who wishes to remain anonymous, but they have graciously shared their hearts below:

If you are reading this, you are probably a supporter of FMSC. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Our family has volunteered at the Schaumburg facility for nearly eight years, and it is due to your generosity and those like you that the Schaumburg facility exists.

During that time the impact FMSC has had on the lives of children and adults around the world is immeasurable, but the impact on our family has been even greater.

Like many, our story is complicated, but just know that we can never repay FMSC or you for what you have done for us.

In 2017, after several unsuccessful attempts to find a suitable new location for the Schaumburg facility, it became clear there was a unique way in which we could support FMSC.

After much prayer and conversation, the decision was made to postpone retirement, sell the lot for our dream house and offer to develop a new facility on a vacant land near the current Schaumburg location.

We hope and pray this facility will serve God’s children well, and that you will continue to support this critical mission and wonderful organization.

With grateful hearts we thank you again for all you have done and all that you do for the children of the world.

We can’t wait to see you in the new and improved packing room! Sign up TODAY.
