Giving Tuesday Now. May 5 is no ordinary Tuesday. These are not ordinary times. On Tuesday May 5, the world will come together for Giving Tuesday Now, a day of global giving and unity to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. A threat like COVID-19 touches every corner of the globe, including every member of the FMSC family—from volunteers to employees to food partners to the kids and families we feed across the world. Volunteer meal packing is paused, but the need for food intensifies as COVID-19 pushes into ultra-poor countries, creating what the World Food Program calls a “hunger pandemic.” This hunger pandemic will likely double the number of people on the brink of starvation to 265 million. And with schools shut down around the world, almost 370 million children have lost access to the nutritious food they normally get at school according to the World Food Program. They project that without action, the world could face multiple faminesof biblical proportions within a few short months.
The virus won’t kill us. It will be the hunger. – FMSC FOOD PARTNER IN THE PHILIPPINES. Hunger does not rest, and neither will we. Kids like Jennifer depend on it. We are finding new ways to pack and ship meals. But these methods cost more than using volunteers, so we need your support to keep feeding kids. Early giving is open. Kickstart Giving Tuesday Now with a gift today.
Every dollar you give will be TRIPLED up to $100,000 by the generosity of anonymous donors. GIVE NOW. IT WILL BE TRIPLED!
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he
will repay him for his deed.”
