‘EVEN WHEN IT IS MESSY…’ Bingala, who has cerebral palsy, and his grandmother are part ofFMSC food partner Iris Africa’s Children of Hope program. The programhelps 30 grandmother-led households in a village in Malawi thatsuffers from constant food insecurity. “Three years ago, my boy couldn’t even sit and now he can walk,”Bingala’s grandma told the other grandmothers who meet monthlyas part of the Children of Hope program. Iris sends the grandmothers and kids home with MannaPack™ Rice after each meeting. Through the support of this uniqueprogram, Bingala’s grandmotherwas able to help him and offeredadvice to the other grandmothers. “Do the exercises, encourage yourkids to sit properly, let them feed themselves even when it ismessy. Laugh. Sing,” she said.
