Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
Each meal you pack, fund and pray over equips FMSC partners to do transformative work around the world. Hunger relief is usually just part of what our partners do — but food is the foundation for so much more.
Venezuelan families survived the earthquakes. Now they need food.
Venezuela | South America
On June 24, two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela within a minute of each other, destroying homes, livelihoods, markets and food supplies.
For children and families already struggling to eat, the disaster created a crisis on top of a crisis. Even before the earthquakes, access to enough food was a top concern for 80% of Venezuela’s population.
Now, 1.8 million people — including 680,000 children — need humanitarian assistance. For families who lost their homes and income, hunger will remain long after the immediate emergency ends.
FMSC meals are already reaching families
Because meals and trusted partner relationships were already in place, MannaPack® meals began reaching survivors within days of the quakes.
The earthquakes struck within a minute. Recovery will take far longer. With families displaced and livelihoods disrupted, FMSC has receive requests for nearly 4 million meals to help provide reliable food through the difficult months ahead.
