2017 MobilePack Summit: Mission, Meals, Momentum

2017 MobilePack Summit: Mission, Meals, Momentum

"Mission requires more than doing. It requires an intimate knowledge of God." --Laurel Bunker

This year's MobilePack™ Summit was a time of refreshment and conviction as we were moved again by our keynote speaker from Bethel University, Laurel Bunker.

She reminded us that scripture is a book of promises as she preached about the feeding of the 5,000.

This is a passage we at FMSC never tire of hearing, and this time was no different.

Bunker reminded the audience of staff and MobilePack hosts that the disciples realized that God was multiplying only once they started moving.

"We may not always see the manifestation in the moment," she said. "But as we go, God multiplies."

We also had the honor of hearing from Ryan Skoog, co-founder and president of Venture. This partnering organization is saving the lives of refugees on the Thai/Burma border.

"They're saying, 'We want to rebuild our lives, but if we always have to worry about where our next meal is coming from, we'll always be in survival mode,'" he said.

Skoog reminded our MobilePack hosts that YOU are the difference between Venture being able to say yes or no to someone who needs a nourishing meal.

"When you're thinking, 'Are we going to do one more?' That's the difference for us in sending another container," Skoog said.

FMSC's executive team gave an update on the future of MobilePack and other staff provided resources to help hosts put on a successful MobilePack event.

Thank you so much to those who came out. We hope to see you next year!
