Praying His Promise

Praying His Promise

Every day, FMSC staff from every site come together to lift our work before God. We do it for the same reasons we pray over each box of food before it ships out.

We pray for His blessing. We pray to show our gratitude. To confess our weakness. To love better. We pray for renewed focus and strength as we try to be the hands and feet of Christ. We pray for the kids we feed and the partners we work with. We pray for you.

We pray because we know that our efforts — and even our accomplishments — are meaningless if we’re not anchored to the vine of Christ.

Prayer is at the core of FMSC. It drives our work and who we are.  And at the start of every fiscal year, our councils and executive team select a verse to help guide our prayers. For the 2021–22 fiscal year, our verse is John 15:4–5.

FMSC invites you to join us as we pray through one of Jesus’s promises:

Jesus promised, “Remain in Me, as I also remain in FMSC. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can FMSC bear fruit unless you remain in Me. I am the vine; FMSC, you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, FMSC will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.”
