What happens after you apply?

Want to know what happens after you apply for a position with FMSC? Here’s a glimpse into our hiring process.

Application submitted
We love that you applied! You’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know that the submission was successful. Then an HR team member reviews each application and sends a responsive email to each candidate to communicate if they will continue in the hiring process or not. Some candidates will be invited to a phone interview at this point.

Phone interview with Human Resources
Applicants invited to a phone interview will use the calendar link, at the bottom of the emailed invite, to schedule a time that works best to connect. During the phone interview, we’ll discuss your application and work experience and share more about our open position. This conversation will take 20-45 minutes, depending on the position. After the phone interview, HR will reach out to each candidate to communicate if they will continue in the hiring process or not. Some candidates will be invited to an in-person interview at this point.

In-person interview
Depending on the position, HR will set up an in-person or via Zoom interview between the candidate, the supervisor of the open position, and a 2nd FMSC team member. These interviews are approximately 1 hour. You will be asked a combination of general duties and behavioral questions related to the position, while learning more about the position in-depth and experiencing FMSC culture. Higher-responsibility positions require 2+ rounds of interviews.

Contingent offer + background check
We will make a final hiring decision. HR will reach out to each candidate to communicate if they will receive an offer or not. A contingent job offer is extended to the selected candidate, asking the candidate to review the offer and complete a background check.

Official offer + onboarding

Once you accept the job offer and the background results are approved, we’ll send you an official welcome email with onboarding steps. Depending on the position, the direct supervisor of the role or an HR team member will reach out to schedule your start date!
