Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
This Father’s Day, we want to honor the quiet strength and unwavering love of fathers around the world — especially those like Bruno*.
At 30 years old, Bruno lives with his wife and daughter in a tough neighborhood in Peru. Life in this area is far from easy — crime is high, and the streets are often unsafe, especially for children. Yet every day, Bruno and his wife take turns walking their daughter to and from school, refusing to risk her safety for even a moment. Their love is protective and present in every small act of sacrifice.
Bruno is doing everything he can to build a better future. Recently, he took a leap of faith and started an upholstery business in hopes of providing a stable income. Like many beginnings, it’s been challenging — especially with the recent school expenses for his daughter’s uniforms and supplies weighing heavily on the family’s budget. Still, he presses on.
The burden is heavy, but Bruno carries it with quiet courage. His greatest hope is to one day move his family to a safer neighborhood and give his daughter the opportunities she deserves. Until then, every meal, every school day, every small win is a testament to his strength.

This is where the gift of support can mean the world. A simple package of MannaPack® Rice delivered by a local church through FMSC partner World Help didn’t just provide nutrition — it provided hope. Bruno was deeply moved by the visit, saying:
“Thank you very much for making the effort to come here. This neighborhood is very dangerous, there is a lot of crime. Thank you for not getting discouraged along the way and coming here. May God bless and protect you."
This Father’s Day, let’s celebrate dads like Bruno — whose love never wavers, whose courage leads in quiet ways and who continue to hope even when the path is hard. Let’s remind fathers like Bruno that they’re not alone this Father’s Day, donate now
