Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit

Multiplying good through workplace giving

Multiplying good through workplace giving

Like many other incredible Feed My Starving Children volunteers, Dana Minion has a job when he's not packing at one of our sites. He is the Director of Ballpark Maintenance for the Minnesota Twins. When Dana learned there was a way to combine his passion for feeding kids with his work, he took it. Like Dana, you have the opportunity to get your employer involved in all the good you're doing.

Don't wait! Take advantage of the opportunities you have before the year ends and resets programs.

How to involve your work with your giving

  1. Corporate matching

If you're not sure if your company has a matching program or they don't show up in Double the Donation, that doesn't mean they won't match. It never hurts to talk to your Human Resources department about philanthropy programs.

If you're an employer, you can shape the culture of your company to be one of generosity and service by creating your own matching policy for employees.

  1. Volunteer grants

Volunteer grants and volunteer time-off programs allow companies to incentivize service. If you volunteer with FMSC, ask your HR department if they will fund the meals you packed with a volunteer grant.

  1. Payroll deductions

Automatic payroll deductions as charity gifts through Global Impact or United Way it is very easy to do! Find more information here.
